Presentation Day and Palazzo Vecchio

Yesterday we went to the Palazzo Vecchio, which is in the Piazza della Signoria. It was built in 1298 and served as the seat of the government until the 16th century when Cosimo I moved his family in to the building and completely renovated it. Now it is still the meeting place of the government but is also decorated with multiple frescos that honor the Medici family. We had an Italian tour guide that showed us around the Palazzo and also took us in to a few secret passageways!

After our visit, Kelsey and I had to give our presentation on clothing in the 15th Century. We talked about the impact of Sumptuary Laws (Laws that limit clothing), Layering, and the Subconscious meaning of this clothing.  The presentation went really well and our professors seemed to like it! We celebrated by going to dinner at our favorite Mexican spot: Tijuana!

After dinner, I wrote my reflection for the day and got ready for bed. I watched a few episodes of Modern Family (that’s why my blog is late AND short :P). Now we are about to start class.
